Rainbowfest is a new event for Aberdeen City & Shire that aims to bring together the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender individuals in the area along with their family and friends for an inclusive day with acts, activities and information.
Based on the ethos of Pride the event is hoping to be inclusive to all. Whilst the event is only in the planning stage a website has been launched at www.rainbowfest.co.uk as well as sister bebo, myspace and facebook sites being developed over the next few weeks.
The event was the idea of Gary Noble, a local promoter who has vast experience which has seen him concept and promote for the the local council elections, chartities, pubs, clubs, corporate market and the entertainments industry.
Gary's main drive for wanting to organise the event was the fact that Pride in Aberdeen Ltd will not be organising an event this year and he wanted to continue to have an event in Aberdeen for the LGBT community. A committee is to be set up to help co-ordinate and organise the event, the committee will include Gary Noble – Event Director, Will Mackie – Co-Owner of Aberdeen's Foundation Nightclub, Andi Watson and some others that still have to be chosen.
